After two decades in healthcare with roles spanning from phlebotomy, medical assistant, EKG technician, medical receptionist, EMT services, to firefighting, predominantly at Doctor’s Medical Center and Mark Twain Dignity Health, I earned a CTE Credential in Medical Science. During my seven-year tenure at CHS, I've been privileged to guide students towards realizing their dreams in medical fields, securing placements in clinical positions with CPR and BLS certifications in hand. For me, what makes our Medical and EMT pathways special is that we are a small tight-knit family. My students experience challenges at 17 and 18 that others do not, and it’s a quick maturation process. They learn resilience and open communication. This CTE pathway is an opportunity for students to develop into responsible young adults who achieve their dreams and excel in their chosen medical field.
