Calaveras High School Career Technical Education
A pathway is a sequence of courses (usually three, two-semester courses) in a specific industry sector that teaches the knowledge and skills needed to enter college or employment.
The Agriculture and Natural Resources pathways emphasize real-world, occupationally relevant experiences of significant scope and depth.. Students engage in an instructional program that integrates academic and technical preparation and focuses on career awareness, career exploration, and skill preparation in five pathways.
The standards for the Patient Care pathway apply to occupations or functions involved in the prevention, treatment, and management of illness and the preservation of mental and physical well-being through the services offered by the medical and allied health professions. The standards specify the knowledge and skills needed by professional and technical personnel pursuing careers in this pathway.
The Emergency Response pathway encompasses standards for designing student coursework in preparation for a number of careers in this field, including fire services, medical services, wildland services and emergency management. The standards provide the foundation for further professional education and training at a postsecondary level, leading to certification and employment. By mastering these standards, students gain critical knowledge and skills through classroom and job-site experiences, simulations, and other learning modalities.
