Outdoor Recreation and Conservation (2050)

This course engages students with the local environment and natural resources of Northern California as well as public lands of the United States. Learning will take place in the classroom, school farm, school forest, and field trips to local and regional lands such as Big Trees State Park, and local lakes and rivers. Students will learn about leadership, team-building, orienteering (map & compass reading), parks and recreation, hunter safety, archery, fishing and backpacking, trail building, and basic forestry management.
